Application Procedure
Please follow the stepsoutlined below to finish your application. Please note that all requiredapplication materials must be submitted for an application to be consideredcomplete.
Step 1: Apply online
Theapplication form will be sent to the applicants. Fill it out and submit therequired materials as below.
Senior high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and fulltranscripts
The documents must bein English or Chinese with official stamps of the high school or authorizedinstitute. Notarized translated copies must be submitted if the document is notin Chinese or English.
If you apply beforethe completion of high school, an official letter issued by the instituteindicating the time when you will receive the certificate is required. Copy ofcertificate and final version of the transcripts are still required once youreceive them.
Proof of English proficiency
The applicant whosenative language is not English must submit a score of IELTS, TOEFL, orequivalent. Minimum overall band score of IELTS is 5.5. Minimum score ofTOFEL(IBT) is 80. In consideration of Covid-19 this year, the applicant whodidn’t get the above proof of English proficiency before application can alsoapply these programs, but a good performance in entrance examination (remoteinterview) is required.
An applicant whoreceives a high school certificate from an English-speaking country may beexempted from this proof.
Personal statement in English
The PS should be inan essay format (400 words minimum) and mainly introduce yourself, your experienceand interests, your future career plan and the reason for choosing SUES.
Supplement
Proof ofmerits or testimonials, or other documents that you wish to be considered.
Photocopy of passport
If thepassport has been extended, passport extension page should be included. If youare not in your home country during the application, your currently valid visain that country is also required.
Step 2: Required Documents Submission
Submit inPDF file, with signature.
Step 3: Entrance exam
Accordingto the admission requirements of different majors, there may be entranceexamination (remote interview), please pay attention to the further notice forthe time and place.
V. FEES & SCHOLARSHIPS
Fees
Tuition (per academic year):CNY 18,000
Insurance (per academic year):CNY 800
Dorms (per academic year): CNY1,200（four-bed room）
Textbook (per academic year):CNY 3,000
In total: 23,000
Note: Basic living costs inShanghai is about CNY 3000/ month, which will be covered by student himself orherself. The tuition payment and refunding process shall follow universitypolicy.
Scholarships
SUES provides different types and levels ofscholarship for excellent applicants, including Shanghai Government Scholarshipfor international students & SUES Scholarship for outstanding internationalstudents.
Students applying for SGS should apply online via http://study.edu.sh.gov.cn/apply/. Studentsapplying for SUES Scholarship please email us, and an application form will besent to you.
Coverage and Details
Shanghai Government Scholarship Type A (Fullscholarship) covers tuition, expenses for accommodation and living, and comprehensiveinsurance during the corresponding study period.
SUES Scholarship for outstanding internationalstudents and Shanghai Government Scholarship Type B (Partialscholarship) both cover tuition and comprehensive insurance, yet excludethe cost of textbooks and materials used as well as expenses for accommodationand living during the corresponding study period, while annual assessment is required.
